My specs:

CPU-FX-6300

mobo-M5A97 R2.0

GPU-msi GTX 770 twin frozr 2 GB

powersupply-Antec bronze certified 620W

RAM-something off of staples one stick of 4GB

HDD-Seagate 1TB

Case-Antec one

Now i was told this is a solid build but, i still have questions and performance issues.

1. I lag in minecraft, i dont play it but it still annoys me after i put so much money in I still lag, i just wanted to know if its normal or whats the issue?

2. I lag in TF2 offline mode? When im online i get no lag whatsoever, but in offline i do?

3. How can i benchmark this PC? any free programs or anything?

4. How long do you think this build will last without upgrading?

5. *MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION* While playing Planetside 2 (i run at 20-97 FPS) i frequently lose signal (screen blacks out i have a no signal error) but comes back after 2 seconds, as I play these become more and more frequent. Whats wrong?

4. And finally what would you change, and how much will my performance increase by if i overclock my CPU?

Solution
You could be running out of available RAM for buffering....stuff. I've read that AMD CPUs benefit greatly from fast RAM. Considering getting 8GB 1866Mhz CL 9 RAM.

A solid state drive or SSD is like a huge usb flash drive that has a memory controller for handling all that super speedy storage. These drives have read and write speeds significantly higher than any hard drive. What that means is very fast OS boot times, very speed anti virus scans and quicker game level loading, with smoother area transitions. You also won't notice any slow-down at all once you fill the drive full of programmes, background processes and startup programmes.

I really would make these upgrades to balance out your otherwise very powerful build. Definitely...

You need a minimum of 8GB RAM these days to play games on very high. Definitely get a another stick of RAM. If you have something like 1333Mhz CL 10 RAM then do yourself a favour and buy 2 new sticks of RAM or 1 8GB stick.

Definitely overclock your CPU if you feel comfortable doing so. The FX-6300 lags behind Intel CPUs quite significantly unless it is overclocked. Get yourself a good cooler such as the Hyper Evo 212 and find something stable over 4Ghz.

Also playing games off a SSD is an amazing experience, that would definitely improve performance in some games. Maybe get something like a 120GB Samsung Evo for your OS and to play your games of off.
