Cooling options for I5 2500K with CM Elite 120 and Gigabyte Z77N

Hi guys,

I recently built a mini-ITX gaming PC using the Coolermaster Elite 120, Gigabyte Z77N, I5 2500K (though I'm not overclocking) and GTX650 Ti Boost.

I have the Evercool HPL-815 cooling the CPU, as the case and the mobo really restricts that choice. A larger cooler could block the PCI-E slot and a taller than 65mm one wouldn't fit due to the PSU.

With this setup I'm getting really high temps. Playing Farcry it averages 70C but reaches 90+ on HWMonitor. I suspect the Evercool isn't getting good contact with the CPU due to a transistor in the way.

I'd like some help choosing a better cooling solution for my setup (must be compatible with the GA z77n and the elite 120).

I was thinking about two paths:

1) Water cooling: does anybody have experience fitting the radiator on that case without any modding? Either in the optical bay (which I don't use) or in the front fan slot?

2) Changing the Evercool with another CPU cooler + extra 120mm fan: I was thinking maybe Noctua L9i or something, but i'm sure there are better solutions that i don't know of. I've heard about Deepcool or Silverstone or Coolermaster (the Vorteq 211q).

Please help me :]

Thanks, Vic, actually for now the Deepcool Gabriel (featured in the article you sent) is my best pick.

It's cooler than the Evercool and fits both the Z77N and the Elite 120 case.

The only problem is that I can't find it for nothing! The only seller I found is from Korea and is asking USD 79!!
