Hi all,
After few days of trying to sort this issue out I decided to ask for help. Here is my story.
I have 3 dell inspiron 1545.Two are mine and one uses my wife.
1,Backlight on one of them stopped working (thats what I thought) so I used the other laptop to test the invertor and the backlight. Both worked. I also connected the external monitor and it worked fine as well.
2,Next I took the screen from my other working laptop and connected it to one I had problem with.Gues what.It didnt work. The screen was still very dimmed I could barely see anything.
3,I connected the screen back to original laptop and there was no backlight on it either.Tested the inverter and backlight using 3rd laptop all working fine.Tried connect another working screen but no luck.
4,So now I have two laptops with dimmed screens.I have no idea whats wrong.

Hope its all understandable.
Thank you for reading.

Hi, you have a fuse F1, who is in the circuit powering the backlight. Maybe the fuse is open, if you can verify the fuse, you will know if it's the problem.

If you don't replace the fuse with another one, you bypass a protection. Instead of the fuse who will open, another component will burn. It's up to you to keep it like that or solder a new fuse of 3A 32V.
