I have this motherboard from a few years back when I bought my PC. I have 8GB of RAM in my machine. When I try to make movies, the machine almost always crashses in the middle of making the movie. I use Windows movie maker and another program. I have reviewed the mother board and it says I can upgrade to 16GB of ram. I see there is a Crucial part for this .CT51264aa667 with is 4GM and I could get 4 of these. Will DDR3 ram work? I see RAM sticks which are 2X 8GB. Will these work with my motherboard?

Is RAM even the reason my machine is crashing when making a movie? It seems strange my machine crashes when the movie being made is much smaller than the available RAM. Is it possible some other part of my machine can't handle a movie being made that is over 10 minutes? This seems to clearly be a hardware issue since both Windows Movie Maker and AVS software crash. I am assuming that this is a memory issue. Is there some other type of hardware issue that would cause my system to crash? My machine has been crashing frequently recently. Every time I'm rendering a movie over a few minutes, it just crashes and it is frustrating.

It could be your cpu. Encoding video is very CPU intensive, much like a stress test. It could be getting your cpu too hot. Are you overclocking your cpu? If so, it could be an unstable overclock.

It is most likely not a RAM issue, but probably either something CPU-related or storage related. Are you sure you have enough storage to download the movie? Maybe your CPU is overheating and your system shuts down.
It could be something with your PSU, if it completely turns off maybe it is not connected right or it is having some other issues. Most likely not a motherboard problem here.
