PC won't pick up specific network when others can.

my pc won't pick up my wifi network. it is showing other networks in range but not my network and i know the problem isn't the router because other people can connect to the network.
this used to happen before but i used to change the ssid and i could see the new id from my pc but now it doesn't show even if i change the ssid.

how old is the router? Have you check the MFG for a newer Firmware for it?

the router is brand new and the driver is up to date.

verify that the security set in the router is compatible with what your adapter can handle...

8 or 8.1... 8 has WiFi issues that are corrected in 8.1

try changing the security to none, delete the SSD from Networking, restart the PC and see if it sees it without security... If seen, repeat the delete after adding WPA/WPA2 mixed mode and a simple 123456 passphrase.
