if I put windows 8 on an ssd can i switch the computer it's in?

If I have Windows 8 on an SSD and I choose to buy a new computer, can I remove the SSD from the computer and put it in a new computer if I choose to get one l. If I do this will I be able to just connect it up and for there to not be any issues with it rejecting the new computer?

No, W8 would need to be reinstalled.

I have done this when my old pc motherboard failed, i tried to boot and windows 8 reconfigured to the new hardware, i had to re-activate windows, which meant phoning microsoft as the internet activation constantly failed.

Moving a drive with an existing Windows application sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Or it 'works', but then you have multiple lingering driver issues.

Clean install on the new hardware completely fixes that issue.
