i am looking in to upgrading my system to a newer card because my current card is not the greatest and would like better. i will watercool the card and overclock. i heavily mod skyrim, and would like to play all games on max and future proof it. my thoughts were either r9 290x or gtx 780ti or titan black. also i would prefer either asus or evga cards. My budget limit is about $1000

The 780Ti will easily handle three monitors and the NZXT 630 will fid a 200mm radiator.

I've got a 780ti that I was running with an FX 8120, the card is a monster. Mine's an Asus, OC'd it to 1126mhz no problem with the reference cooler on it, if you're watercooling, the sky is the limit.

You will not regret the ti. Another option you could do is a 780, and take the savings and buy a G-sync monitor, that'll give you an awesome gameplay experience. If you don't want to go that route, but want the best card, it depends on your monitor.

IF you're at 1440p or less, TI hands down, if you're going for 4K now or down the road, might want to consider the Titan, simply because it has more RAM for the higher res textures.

If you're like me and by the time you can afford a 4K monitor the Ti will be a faint memory, then might as well go with the TI as you won't max it out by the time you can afford a nice new monitor.

Hope my delirious rantings when I'm tired made sense...

I originally had the Titan when I got my Asus PQ321Q and then when the 780ti came out I tried that and got almost identical results in (BF4, TR and actually better results in C3) so I sold the Titan and got a second 780ti. Not say future releases will not benefit from the extra vram. Gtx780 (6gb) is coming soon.

i have a GTX780 on an FX-8320 overclocked and i max out every games at 60+ FPS except for crysis 3 and metro LL wich are ALMOST maxed out, the card overclocks like a champ i get mine stable at a boost clock of around 1275mhz and at that speed its faster than a stock titan by about 3-5% in benchmarks, can't beat that for 500$...
