60 fps drops randomly to 1 fps HELP

So I have a decent lap top. I shouldn't have any problems running games. 6 months ago my computer ran fine. Then on League of legends i started getting this random lag where it would drop to 1 fps. it didnt even have to be anything exciting going on it just happened. All my other games ran fine. Now every game does this. I don't know what the problem is.

Please help! I miss gaming happily lag free.;/

Update graphics card drivers.

Check temperatures.

If temps are too high then probably dust has built up and you need to clean your laptop's graphics card (if it has a dedicated one) heatsink and fan and do the same with your CPU fan.
