Hey guys,

My dell studio 1569 one day was not getting past the dell splash screen and I could hear some beeping from the hard drive. I figured that the hard drive files are probably corrupt or something. So instead of trying to fix it im just buying a new laptop. But before I do that I wanted to transfer the files from my hard drive to another existing laptop that I own (Lenovo B570). so I got a apricorn sata to usb cable and connected it to my other laptop and used the apricorn EZ gig IV application to transfer the data to the laptop. The application is being run through a disc that came with the apricorn cable. The problem is it wouldn't detect the hard drive. My Lenovo B570 also has a sata hard drive so I dont't see why It can't detect it. The device manager doesn't detect it either (I looked in other devices nothing was there, looked in disk drives nothing was there). Even the bios can't detect it so what do I do? I really need the data pulled of the hard drive onto my Lenovo B570 but the whole laptop cannot detect the hard drive at all!

@ubrales 1st I connected the hard drive then I ran the Capricorn ez gig software and when I click on start ez gig its not detecting the drive what's so ever. But if it helps when I connect the hard drive to the laptop the hard drives makes a beeping sound and then it stops. After that I can hear the hard drive up and running.

You need to connect these drives as external drives to another computer and then run shkdsk and/or HDTune to verify that they are good. Check the health.
