I have just upgraded the processor of my budget build from an AMD A4-5300 to an A10-7700K. My problem is that Windows absolutely refuses to install with the new processor. I'm fairly certain that the processor works, because I can get into the bios just fine and make changes. I have tried both windows 7 and 8. For windows 7 I can usually get into the installer but after the point where the system has to restart then it starts freezing and pushing me back to the starting installer windows. For windows 8 it gets to the point where there is the Asus logo and the spinning circles, and then it freezes. I have been using the rest of the parts previously with windows 7, and they have all worked together perfectly fine. Any help would be welcome.
System core specs:
AMD a10-7700k APU
Asus a55bm-a/usb3 micro-atx motherboard
1tb WD caviar green HDD
8gb G.skill 2133 memory

What port is your primary HD set to? If it's not SATA-0 and set as the default boot device, Windows won't load period. You will need to go back and check your connections and make sure that works. Then when you boot your PC back up go into the BIOS and set your DVD drive to first in the primary boot order, then your HD second. When Windows is done installing switch the drives back in the boot order to HD first, DVD second.
