best xbmc htpc build?

i'm looking to build a new htpc for my living room, but can't decide what performance/price point i want to match my new 55" 120hz tv...I know i want an amd processor, an internal BD drive, and anything up to a mid-tower case; any suggestions? i'd like to be able to do a bit of light gaming (possibly) and run xbmc as my main program, with media in an nas drive.

Actually it would be easier to help you if we could know your budget, talking about htpcs we often recomend using more money on OS storage like an SSD, bd player and the Case. Theres alot of stuff you need to ask yourself, what size?, do you want it to be silent?, what kind of Keyboard/controller you want to use?, what games are you playing if playing anything.

i'd like to keep the cost below 600, but i still want it capable of full 1080p playback. as for noise, quieter is of course better, but not a requirement. i figure i'll use a logitech wireless keyboard/trackpad and/or a xbox 360 controller for xbmc, and i don't plan on much more than say, angry birds or possibly a gameboy emulator for gaming...as for the case, i haven't had really any experience with any case smaller than a mid-tower, so i'm not sure what the best options are...
