Hey hows it going, i was just wondering is this going to play games like BF3, COD Black Ops2, Runescape 3, Skyrim, War Thunder, PlanetSlide2, APB Reloaded and Gta iv at 1080P @ Low to medium settings?
I also plan to do a small amount of video editing on it, creating games with FPS Creator, watching videos at 1080p and browsing several tabs in Google chrome at the same time.

Thanks, an in-depth response is much more appreciated.

Also i plan on getting a dedicated sound card for audiophile use for music and gaming later, what do you suggest under 100AUD.

Thanks
.

Good build, but a few things. First off, I'd get 8 gbs of RAM and get a well known brand like corsair or gskill, and do 1600mhz. Then I'd do a 500 gb hard drive, as that will be plenty, and save you some cash, and switch to caviar blue. That PSU is WAY overpriced, for this range I suggest getting a CX500, which cost half of that PSU, can't comment on the mobo or case. Take that saved cash and bumpup to a 270. As for the sound card I always just use the built in one, hopefully someone else can help you on that.

Australian pricing . Not all psu's available in the US are for sale in Australia where tougher regulations now apply . Even a bronze rated psu is not acceptable now so the HGC must be old stock

Oops, didn't realize he was in Australia, my bad. But he said he wanted to do some multitasking, so I recommended 8 gigs.

Well, as I said previously, I just use the built in one, but the reviews for it are solid, 4/5 and it looks pretty badass, so I can't find anything terrible about it, others might be able to give a better opinion, but from what I've read it's a solid choice.

Cool thankyou!

Im currently using a

Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.86Ghz
Intel GMA 3000 GPU
3gb ram
HD Audio Device
120GB HDD 5400RPM

Not very good... At all! I have a HP Dv6 wich runs BF3 @ 1080P on high but due to overheating it is unbearable to use for gaming. The Radeon GPU crashes all the time.

This is why i want a desktop.

You don't need a sound card at all, but if you're insistent on getting one...
Anyway, ditch the APU. You have a video card so you won't need it. Go for an FX-6300 and you'll gain a lot of performance for the same price.

Yeah man i realize that, but sound is a big thing for me. Since i will have to also upgrade My HD201's to HD280's. Would be nice to hear music that sounds realistic. I do not mind putting more pennies down on the sound card than other upgrades.

Yeah man, thanks. I might consider also getting the 6 core, or is it just a gimmick?

Sorry for sounding... harsh. I misunderstood your original post and thought you were putting the sound card in the old PC. :3 It's not so bad to use a good sound card in the new PC you're building.

It'll help performance a bit now, and more later. One moment though, I'm going to take a look at the rest of the PC.

Actually... never mind. I didn't know prices on AM3+ motherboards were so high in Australia.
I doubt I can build anything substantially better than what you already picked without increasing the cost. Good work. o_o
I feel stupid.

Wow, i was lucky! I barely knew nothing of what was there hahaha lol.

The vishera is pretty awesome from reviews. Do you think this build will play BF3 @ 1080P at medium?

Yes, it should handle medium pretty easily.
This is a video of the same model of graphics card running it, though it's always possible your CPU will hold you back from quite as high of settings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_McLIpSYVQ

Anyway, I did modify stuff somewhat and get a build with slightly higher performance and cheaper upgrades later. However, I can't see the prices of your motherboard and RAM for some reason, so I can't tell if it costs more or less. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/3jxHy

Thanks, ill write down that. That seems a very decent build for under $400. That's awesome man.

If i get a AMD sepron 145 all my issues will be solved! haha

It's not actually under $400, the prices on some items aren't showing up on either of our links for some reason.

Oh haha that is true lol. I dunno 0_o

The game-play on that video looked smooth to me. Good enough for me, Besides i play Runescape 3 most of the time. And i can max that out at 1080p using an IntelHD 4000, with the i7.
