So there are bronze, silver, gold, ect? So does gold mean that it will have gold plating on it and the same for the other?

Not at all. They're just a rating system for efficiency, they have nothing to do with metal.
I've never even seen Titanium used but it's best, platinum is great, gold is great, silver is good, bronze is good, below bronze is blegh.
