I have the EVGA 780 ti Superclocked on a 1080p. It's great, but if you are going to upgrade in two years, the 780 SLI would destroy a single 780 ti. If you're thinking to SLI some 780 ti cards, though, that would be rock solid for 144 fps at 1080p for at least two years.

As for which cooler, they are both fine with good case ventilation, though the ACX will run a little less hot if in a roomy case.

If you can only buy one? My budget is $2200 with full peripherals but I can only buy 1 card. What would you choose. Also another question if you can SLI the same cards but diff. versions ex: (GTX 780 FTW and GTX 780 Classified)

The 780 ti is the best single card solution in your price range. I would go with that if you only want one card. As for SLI, the only requirements are same GPU and same VRAM. As long as those are set, there will be no SLI compatibility issues between the cards themselves. You can even do OCed cards with stock cards. SLI just runs at the lower speed between the two cards. You'll run unto trouble only when you do something like mix a 3 GB card with a 2 GB card (i.e. not same VRAM) or try to sli a 780 with a 780 ti (i.e. different processors). Even though the 780 and 780 ti are both based on the GK110 chip, they are indeed different processors because the 780 ti has access to the whole chip, where as the 780 only has access to part of the chip. A very similar difference differentiated the Intel i7-3960X from the XEON version of that chip. The 3960X was the XEON chip with two of the 8 cores disabled.

I would go with the EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC w/ ACX. I got it last week and I have no complaints. The price just recently dropped an extra $20 on amazon down to $710 now.
