I have a lenovo H520 series machine type 10093 and I need a better graphics card as integrated goes only so far. I am hoping for something that could maybe play bf4 at medium/high settings with decent 30< FPS but have a budget of about £100 and have seen some that "can" run bf4 at these requirements but am still unsure.

You wont get great settings with anything really less than 100$ if you can push for a budget of 200$ max id easily go with the GTX 750/TI it can easily run BF4 with medium settings, your i5 is fine just make sure you MOB is compatible and your PSU is up to power requirements.
