New RAID0 not booting

I have just setup my first RAID and of course it has issues. I can get both drives into RAID 0 and formatted and windows will even install just fine after I load the 32bit driver for my mobo but after the install it makes me reboot and then my PC cant find a boot device and asks me to press any button to try again. So I do and it magically finds the drives and proceeds to try and boot.

All looks fine until the little dots begin to come together for the windows logo. once you see the red and green dots Windows crashes and reboots doing the same thing on loop.

The RAID drive are the only ones plugged in. They are identical drives just 1 is a little older than the other one.

Do you guys have any suggestions?
If my description was fuzzy at all I took pictures along the way and a small video of what it does after I install winodws.

Can you boot into safe mode? Try pressing f8 multiple times before the windows logo apears. Try safe mode, then try again "with networking" if it works and try updating some drivers.
If windows installs on the RAID fine, then it's probably working fine. There are many things that can cause windows to not boot properly - usually all driver related depending on what you have for system hardware etc.

UPDATE- It takes me to the option menu for safe mode etc automatically since it failed to boot. I tried every option there and they all load up to disk.sys and then its crashes and reboots.

Well this is very interesting... And you have to use the 32bit driver? You're using a 32 bit windows install with that driver right?
If so, I would try re-installing... Through my experience, RAID either works well, or not at all, so I find it odd that you can install windows, but nothing boots.

I am installing 64bit windows and I have the 64 bit driver but it wont show up until i browse for it and then once its installed none of my drives will show up. with the 32 bit driver it installs and I can see my raid then proceed to install. I heard pulling the usb with the drivers on it after you install them is what you should do before hitting next. I tried doing both with the same result. I have the RAID set to 128kb stipe and fast initializaton, should I change that or format the drives differently in the windows installer?


UPDATE- Currently installing again and all looks fine its halfway through expanding Windows files so it will be done soon.

Those RAID settings are fine. This is the problem you're having - 64 bit windows is crashing using the 32 bit raid drivers. You need to get those 64 bit drivers. What mobo do you have? Does it support 64 bit OS's in RAID?

Maybe it's not the right 64 bit driver for that Mobo RAID setup?

I got it installed and it did the same thing, crashed at the red and green dots.

I am using a MSI 970a G46 mobo and got the driver from the msi site for windows 7 64bit but when I load that the drives wont show up.
Will try it again though just to be sure I did it right.

Do you think just installing 32bit windows and then going to windows 8.1 64bit would work?

UPDATE- might have a solution, I will just install 32bit on the raid then when i get to windows install the 64bit driver and install 64bit Win 8.1 or 7

No. No 64 bit OS will not work on a 32 bit HD/RAID driver.
Have you tried this driver: http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/16655/
Also, take a look at the last few posts on this forum: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/329374-30-970a-windows-64bit-raid-drivers
You have a 64 bit processor right?

Well I think the problem is that the 64bit driver is not signed,

Yes my CPU is 64 bit, check the CPU validator link in my sig for my system specs.

I got that same file from the MSI website.

I am trying to install 32bit just to make sure it is a driver issue, already at 80%

Alright - this is the first I've heard of how to install RAID on an AMD system like this (if you ask me it should be like this but...). Looks like you have to install windows on one hard drive first, then install RAID xpert, reboot and plug the second drive in, load into windows and set up the RAID this way...

I dont think I have an extra hdd laying around to install onto.

Have you ever used the windows RAID feature?
is it very taxing on the CPU?
Cause I dont want to have my whole system crash or lock up when I play a game like GTA IV or Far Cry 3. lol

RAIDxpert is an AMD software. It's going to do for us what we can't do through the BIOS.
It won't use any CPU. It will use both drives just like they were RAIDed in the BIOS once Windows Boots up (windows doesn't boot up much faster [if any] than in RAID anyway).
Once you've finished the steps in the link I just gave you, the files will be split between both drives and when reading and writing I can't imagine there will be any difference in speed between this and BIOS RAID as the operations still have to go through software to figure out how the files are set up whether thats in the BIOS or through the OS.

I forgot to mention that you want to use one of the HD's out of your current RAID. Turn off RAID in the BIOS, install windows on one of the HD's and then follow the steps for RAID 0 in those instructions.

Quick update.
After like 10 installs I think I got it working without needing to clone anything or use extra drives.
I just got the XP 64 bit drivers and that came with 764 bit drivers and 32bit ones too.
Put it all on my flash drive and installed all of the drivers in windows installer.
My raid drive popped up and I installed to it, I am now doing initial setup.

I am kinda tempted to install the 64bit Win 7 drivers again while in windows but I don't want to get a blue screen and have to do this all over again.
