Ok, i currently have AMD FX 8350, Radeon 7870 with 4 x 2 DDR Windows 7 Ultimate

My PC is faster than i expected, but when the time comes to upgrading i have no idea what i should upgrade to.

I was thinking:

AMD 6344 CPU 12 core 2.6Ghz Socket G34 in HP Packaging 705221-001

Nvidia GTX 780

30 Gb Ram

600 W PSU

What do you think?

NOTE: I DONT PLAY GAMES, I ONLY DO MOTION GRAPHICS AND VFX

Is it for gaming? If so, then noooooooooo. You do not need more cores.

what acceleration mechanisms does your software support, cuda, opencl? that will dictate your choice of card. you might be in a good position to go for a dual cpu xeon system? need a budget. If it is not for 6+ months then don't bother asking for another 5 months.

Well, AE supports CUDA, and i am actually looking in an XEON cpu build, but i don't know which model i should pick. Also, my mother is the asus m5a97, do i need to change my motherboard also?

it'll probably be a complete change whatever you do, unless you upgrade to a higher version of the same family of cpu that you have now, in which case there'd be marginal benefit.

The m5a97 shouldn't be able to handle the FX-8350 in the first place, if I am not mistaken it is a 4+2 power phases board, so whenever this chip start drawing too much power it will throttle it and you won't get the performance you should be getting from this chip.
