Unsure about a budget build, need help.

Solution
You can cut $50 down and get better performance. BF4 will destroy the 750k. The 4300 or 6300 would be much better at that budget, as would the Antec VP-450.

+1 to all exept the psu,
i don't know much about it but a $25 psu i would just spend some more on a solid 400-450w psu instead, and sleep well.

This seems like a fine pick. Not sure if you will get consistant 30 FPS. However for the most part it's a nice rig. But should you want to save a few hundred more dollars and add it to your budget. You can easily build a $1,000. Core i5 4670K system with a Hero board and some nice extras. The key is to look at things like open box specials on New Egg, walk into a local Micro Center and even look on Ebay for new to slightly used items. Just built this:

i5 4670K - $199.95- ebay new
Raidmax Aelous Case- $59.99 ebay-sold by new egg
PSU-Corsair 750W Gold Rated-$119.99 (you can easily knock this down to something in the $70 range)
ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 ATX Intel Motherboard - 149.99 New Egg open box online. Came with everything and was actually NEW!
Mushkin Redline 8gb (2X4) DDR3 1600 - $89.99 (New Egg)
Fans and Peripherals- $63.00 (including optical)
Corsair H60 Closed circuit liquid cooling for CPU- $50.00 on ebay new
2 Asus 8970 graphics cards used, but fully functioning for 2 months now - $275.00

Build cost :1007.91 excluding OS

If you get a cheaper PSU and a single Graphics card for around 150 (the R9 270 is going for 150 new on ebay just be patient) your total build cost could be in the $900 marker.
I say screw wifi unless you MUST have it. With a bad router it will kill your gaming with latency. And as far as an OS goes. Theres no need for windows 8 on a desktop. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit will serve you just as well. Ebay that OS too and you can get it for 50 bucks new.

Not saying you need to build what I built, but for a little more, this system will out bench yours anyday of the week. AMD's cpu's have not been keeping up with intel lately, and if you really want to future proof your build, a Haswell based setup might serve you better in the long run.

All the Best.

Thanks! But at about what FPS, and on what settings do you think I would be able to play Battlefield 4/Thief with (I'm striving for maxing them all out, which I think its just another way of saying 1080p at 1920x1080 screen resolution)? I may be going with your build as a a beginner, and then upgrade sometime or somewhere down the road (This is just to get me started, and off of the consoles, playing the same games I do on consoles, but just on PC).

The 270 will get much better than consoles. With it and Mantle in BF4, you should be able to get around 45-50 fps or so in Ultra (maybe more, not sure what Mantle will do with the 4300).

With this setup, you can upgrade to something like the 8320/8350 down the road, though it won't be necessary too soon, since games just start being optimized for 4 cores.
