When using a microphone in windows 8 (that previously worked fine in windows 7) there is a constant static, and my microphone is recording a lot lower than it should be. I turned on the "listen" feature in windows, and even when the mic is off (physical switch on the device) there is static playing through "listen."
I've tried drivers, a bios update, lowering the mic volume to almost zero and using the boost, and a few other things, but there is ALWAYS this static playing through it. Please help!
