i bought online a easy Cap usb 2.0 video adapper with the wire to transfer video tape to my computer and then burn to a dvd. the picture camera displays myself. I use different formats to get the the transfer going by clicking on start and using the timer at 23 minuets to record and when i click start, the message states, you can play your vcr to start recording and I do but the recording does start and the video from my vcr does not appear on the screen on mycomputer just myself. Cannot fiqure out..anyone has ever used what I have..EasyCap capture usb 2.0 video adapter with audio utv007.

Would you happen to also use a webcam on the system.?

A webcam and the Cap usb are both video capture devices.

You either have to select the source device, before recording in the options.
There should be a source setting in the option of the program to select the device to record.

Webcam or Cap usb

If no option exists to select a source.
Then you should disable in device manager of windows the webcam usb device while you attempt to transport your Vhs videos to the pc for digital encoding.

With the cap usb device connected.
That should force it to show what it is recording from the Vhs or source.

If you have the option of file type and comprehension, or the video codec to use make sure you have the codec installed.

You can download video codec packs from the internet.

Such as Xvid, Divx and 264H encoder and decoder packs.

You may have to install these first.
