Hi all,

I've recently decided to upgrade my drivers on my Sapphire 7850 OC 2GB to the new beta drivers that support Mantle. But ever since I have some of my games keep FPS jumping: BF3, CS:GO and F1 2013..

I've uninstalled all my AMD drivers by going into the control panel and uninstalling the catalysts and deleting the AMD folder. Is there anything else I should uninstall?

I'm getting perfect frames within these games BF3: 80-100, F1: 80 CS:GO: 100+ but they keep sticking and jumping all over the place and making it really hard to play.

Specs:
Intel core i5 3570k @3.4Ghz
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Ram
asus p8z77-v lx
Sapphire 7850 OC 2GB

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this problem?

(I can provide a video if that helps but I do have pretty bad upload so may take a while)

Thanks
Dan

hi, My advice would be to re-install the old drivers.I tried mantle my-self and I dont think its totally bug free unless your using a r9 series gpu.

Thanks for your response.

I have re installed the 13.12 drivers and I still have the stuttering I've got no idea what is going on. I've also done a little test and I've noticed a FPS drop in all the games I mentioned above and the frames are not constant either dipping all over the place..

forget that i thought your problem was happening when running games under mantle...sry
still check for your VRAM usage, looks like running out of VRAM...when games runs fine and sometimes
you get a big hiccup like that or stuttering it's most likely a vram shortage, what resolution are you playing at?

Well I had the stuttering problem with the Mantle drivers installed as well that's the main reason why I tried to back date but hasn't seemed to work.. I play with a resolution 1920x1080

none of the games you've mentionned will demand more than 2gb of vram at 1080p, it's got to be something else...have you checked what processes are running on your PC? are you sure you won't a have a virus or malware or something going on?

Ok,

I've found the problem when I uninstalled the catalyst it didn't fully remove all the files such as registry files. So what I did was using this utility from AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clea...
I then waited for that program to do it's thing then ran CCleaner and removed all the registry files. Then rebooted and installed the 13.12 drivers back and rebooted once again.

I can now say all stuttering has now gone and is working fine :)

Thanks for everyone's help.. Happy Gaming
