Hi All,

I already own a PC with HD 6670. I am planning a new build on a budget (This is for a friend of mine). I would like to know how the A10 7850K compares to a low end dedicated gpu. Should I wait for this or I could get a low end FX and a low end graphics card like R7 240 for almost the same price or even less. Will the 7850K give better gaming performance than a R7 240?

Thanks.

Best solution

a b U Graphics card
a b à CPUs

The A10 will be better gaming then the R7240.

However when you want to upgrade GPU in the future the A10 will bottleneck you and hold you back.
The APU platform is just not as good of a CPU as the FX serries. So even starting with an A10, switching to dedicated graphics and a 760k will still be slower cpu then an FX CPU.

What I would do is build your new pc with an FX-6300 or 8320, use the old graphics card or a cheap one like the 240, and then save for the card you want.

OK, but how much of a performance difference can I expect?
If I go with 7850k, I could use a small HTPC case which would allow casual gaming along with saving space.
Also not planning to upgrade anytime soon.

Best solution, by adding ₹5500 or around $100 more (considering the entire system, Price difference between motherboard, PSU etc) FX 6300 and R7 260X. A huge difference in performance from 7850K.
