Is there a way to make my CPU only work hard when I am gaming? It used to only raise its power when I would open WoW. Now it seems to run at 4.1 Ghz even when I am just looking at twitter with no games open. Can someone help get it back to normal?

It will hit higher frequencies during any kind of activity. It just won't push itself to 100% and stay there for long. I doubt it's anything to worry about.
