need help with my fan just installed

i went to go buy water cooling for my cpu plus a added an extra fan, knowing me i cannot install it myself so i gave it to a store to do it for me . When i came home i went inside to check it out inside and as i opened the case the cord popped off so i put it in the 3 pin i saw to the left of my processor and when i turned the computer on my whole pc shut off. Without the fan plugged in it works perfect can anyone help?

sorry lemme get this straight i bought a 80mm fan seperate from the water cooling thats on the side of my case
when i put it in the 3 pin slot on the motherboard thats when my pc shut off on me everytime i turned it on

alright so i got the fan to work but my computer beeped 2 times before anything started my motherboard is glowing green so im guessing its alright but im not good with computers so im not to sure is this safe?

yeah theres 1 glowing green thanks for all your help and putting up with me im pretty new to custom builds and pc components in general so thanks
