Hey!

Ok so I've been having this issue now for what seems like 6-8 months, periodically my computer will (what I can only describe as) artefact and I will get a loud buzzing noise through my headset (believe this is the sound looping. It doesn't matter what game I'm playing after X amount of time (sometimes 5 mins and others several hours) eventually the screen stutters and the graphics freeze/struggle to display and I will get a buzzing noise until I got to desktop and close the application. Same goes for Skype if I'm on it and even Steam will crash out, I think it might be an issue with displaying apps, not sure.

I bought an HD 6670 about 8 months ago and already returned one because of this issue and with the replacement it took about a month to show its head again. Now the company wont replace it as they say I need to direct RMA with XFX which is fine but I'd rather not have to do that since none of the games I'm running 'should' be that taxing on the card.

I'm running 4gb Ram and AMD Phenom II X4 850 processor 3.30ghz.

I've reformatted the PC and I've reinstalled the latest AMD drivers as well as everything for my mobo but I really don't know what's causing this and my 'helpful' work colleagues are just aiming for the "well your graphics and everything in your system is awful..be like me and spend all your money on it" and I'm trying to work on a budget here. I'm happy to increase what I need but this problem does not seem like a total rebuild to me.

Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated and I will answer any questions that I can.

Have you tried running CCLeaner to remove registry errors, junk files, and resource wasting crap? Sometimes registry errors will cause issues.

You may want to uninstall the gfx driver and run Driver Sweeper from safe mode (F8) and have it remove any AMD, ATI, and Nvidia GRAPHIC driver remnants it can find. Then re-boot and install the latest driver for your card and OS.
