I would like to upgrade my motherboard and cpu to be either on par or above for gaming for the next few years. I also work in programs like ZBRUSH, 3DS MAX, and photoshop. I would like at minimum to get a 6 core processor, an 8 core would be ideal. I'm not too PC savvy when it comes to shopping for parts. But I would need a motherboard that can work with the parts I have now:

RAM = 8gigs OCZ DDR3 memory

GPU = ATI SAPHIRE HD 7850

POWER SUPPLY = OCZ MOD XSTREAM PRO 700W

COOLING = CORSAIR LIQUID COOLING( not sure what model but I think it may be the CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mml )

Any recommendations you guys could give would greatly be appreciated. I'm not particular to one brand over another, just good solid products. Thank you.

I will be putting an AMD here because you need multiple cores. If you have the money, go for an i7 with HyperThreading.

Thank you. What parts would you recommend on the intel side? There seems to be a few i7 models.

Any i7 IF it the description says hyper threading. If you can wait for a few months, a refresh is coming out and seems to be really nice. I'll post a few i7's in a bit.

Ok thank you for the help. One last question, will the i7 work with the motherboard you linked?

Turns out I'm gonna have a tad bit of extra money. What about this motherboard, would it work with all the parts I have listed? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
