What card can pull this off?

Hi guys, I'm finishing my first rig (hooray!) and was wanting some advice on graphics cards. I'd like to get an Nvidia card, and I need it to be able to run everything at max settings on a single 1080p monitor (excluding AA). Everything else in my rig will be able to keep up, and there shouldn't be any bottlenecks. Thanks!

Depends on your budget, a 770 is a good choice along with a 780/ti both can run on max, although the 780/780ti will run smoother with better, more solid fps. The titans are not the best GPU, don't believe what you hear, they 780 outperforms the titan.

A 780 or 780TI. A 690 would do it too, you can get them new off of EBay.

Yeah. My budget is around $400, so I don't know about the 780 Ti. I'm willing to wait, however, and I was thinking of getting one of the 800 series GPU's when they come out, or buy a 700 series when the price drops by the end of the year. Also, will 2GB vs. 4GB vram make a difference?

Also, if I went with the 770, what kind of graphics settings would I have to sacrifice in a title like, say, Far Cry 3 or Metro: Last Light?

None, the 770 is a powerful card and can run at max settings on pretty much every title that I know of, with a minimum of 50fps You can easily get 60fps, and I very much doubt you will ever drop below 30fps on anything, I run a 770 and love it, most GPU demanding games I play I get from 60-100fps and my CPU isn't really strong either.

Agreed although he's excluding AA so a 770 would probably be able to get 60+fps.

Thanks guys! So it looks like the 770 is the card for me. Anyone have any suggestions on particular models or on how much VRAM?

I have the Asus 770 2GB, it has great cooling, runs fast, performs excellent and looks good. That's what I would recommend. Have a good day :)

The 800 series will be overpriced for as long as the 700 series was. I would get a 700 later this year when the price drops.
