Hello Toms Hardware,
My dad and I(When i was only 10 or 9, I'm 13 right now) built a computer 3 years ago. The specifications of the computer is a i7 2600K a intel motherboard with only one pci-e slot :) 8gb of crucial memory, and 2TB and it was a hd 5450 which 2 days ago i upgraded to a gtx 770 2gb evga super clocked. It has a 128 GB samsung pro SSD as the boot drive and a 2tb seagate drive. Its got a cooler master full tower case. I was wondering how long this will last till i will be required to update it. I am a heavy gamer :3 and mostly play games such as eso online, sky rim and bf 4.

That's an excellent computer for gaming, I would wait like 3 years more to update it.

I would say that the CPU will be good for awhile. As long as there isn't a new slot interface introduces that phases out PCI-E any time soon (not likely) then you should be good for at least a couple more years. In most cases as long as you can upgrade your GPU and the motherboard hangs in there, it'll last years.

Most games aren't pushing more than a couple cores, the most strenuous push three.

Ok, I game on only one monitor currently but am moving soon and will get 2-3 monitors. Since i am unable to do SLI cause of my mobo how frequently am i looking at updating my Graphics Card. Thanks in advance

I don't know how long it will last but I'll tell you that the newer CPU's from Intel aren't that much better than what you've got. Also the Core i7 920 CPU from 2008 is still a very strong processor for gaming. I would give it at least 3 maybe even 5 more years before you build a whole new system. If you were to upgrade right now you'd see almost no benefit unless you looked at benchmark scores. And then again I wouldn't care much about benchmarks unless you're in some kind of competition for overclocking.

Every few years likely, pushing triple monitors for gaming will require a high end card with lots of VRAM

BF3 is decently GPU intensive, also CPU intensive, F1 2012 not as much of either. But while yes he can do multi-monitor setup with his current GPU he will soon be wanting more VRAM, especially if he is modding skyrim, and PC skyrim without mods? Really??
