I am trying to do an second install of a Samsung evo drive in a second system using magician and migration software from Samsung. I just did this with another system with great success from the help of members here. Thank you. This time around, not so fortunate. I have been through the steps about 3 times, with the same error message, "failed to retrieve source disk info" 201109[031195] I am trying to use a 240gb SSD with a 300gb HDD, but there is only 67gb of data on the HDD. Is it the capacity difference? Or perhaps a defective drive? I am returning to Amazon for same thing, but maybe this is not the issue? Any thoughts from someone who might recognize the code? Thank You, Larry

It might just be samsung being samsung. Not letting you do a migration because it is not samsung to samsung. but I know acronis doesn't have any issues like that, I've done a lot of migrations from hdd's from laptops to ssd's for upgrades.

Finally sent Samsung back and got Intel SSD, for some reason this one worked fine. After many hours of beating my brains out with this one out of 4 Samsung SSD upgrades, the answer was just try another brand!

I had the same error pop up "failed to retrieve source disk info" 201109[031195]. The solution was to delete more data off the SSD until it worked. I had only 400MB free on my 60GB SSD. Once I deleted a 2GB temp file, the Samsung Migration went through without a hitch. I don't know what the threshold is for it to work, but I do know that it was the solution that worked for me.
