Hi i built a computer for a friend (I have built around 20 computers before so i know how to do it)

anyways everything seem to go find except that it randomly locks up or freezes on him we have tried everything we can so far to fix including

Re-installing windows
running memtest (no errors after 10 passes)
uninstalled and re-installed drives from motherboard website
updated bios
made sure it was set to AHCI
tried a third party video card (Nvidia GeForce 620)
changed voltage on ram from 1.5 to 1.6

The specs for the machine are
Intel i3 4130
Gigabyte GA-H81m-HD3
G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600mhz 8GB DDR3
Samsung Evo 840 120Gb SSD
WD Blue 1TB Drive
Antec 450Watt PSU
Windows 8.1 (have also tried windows 7 ultimate and same issue)

he can be doing really anything and it will freeze at random sometimes it will freeze within a couple minutes of being woken up so i thought this might be an issue with sleep states so i asked him to shutdown when finished and boot when needed and don't let go to sleep however it still does it

he has had it doing it when checking emails to watching vids on youtube all sorts of things he is coming over again with it today and i am going to test some ram i have spare here and see if that fixes it i am hoping it is not the Motherboard but this appears to be the only issue everything else on the board works and i used the exact same board two weeks prior for someone else and they had no issues i did use different ram and i tried to order the same for this build but they were sold out and all they had was these ripjaws which i got as i use them in my computer with my gigabyte board and they work fine so i thinking it might be the ram

would love to hear suggestions as if not the ram what it could be???
