I have a Windows 7 64bit OS and 3GB of ram on the mobo. When I check how much memory is available via msconfig, it says 3gb but Computer>Properties says I only have 2GB of RAM usable from the total of 3GB.

How do I go about utilizing all of the ram? And would it be worth the trouble?

Some of it is being used by the system hardware.

I have a nVidia 620 graphic card and an e2180 processor (OEM, dell inspiron 530s). Are you sure there's nothing wrong with the mobo/ram?

I wouldn't think there is necessarily a problem. If both your BIOS and Windows shows that you have 3GB of memory, then you are good to go. It is a matter then of what is using the 1GB of memory. That is a function of running applications and device management of the OS. This all takes system memory away from other uses.
