Recently bought the R7000 to fix a lag spiking problem when gaming(It worked!)

My other problem is a problem many players of Counter-Strike Global Offensive experience. And everywhere you research it, there never seems to be a solid fix. I try to connect to a match, and it says "Failed to locate official game servers with an acceptable ping" and all the threads tell you to raise or lower the ping, which does not work, and in fact I have beliefs it doesn't even connect to the setting in game, because I have played the game for months when it came out and this wasn't an issue(never changed ISP or routers) and then it started happening, stopped for a couple months and is now back!

What does this have to do with routers you ask? Well I'll tell you!

Long story short after digging through threads and it told me R7000 users have to open their NAT since by default the bubble for secured is filled in. Problem is when I do that, my internet keeps rebooting, or losing connection, whatever you want to call it. I first found this out after applying the setting because Ventrilo(my voice chat client of choice) kept dropping connection. Originally I thought it was just ventrilo, but then I saw I was losing connection to steam, and I assume internet connection all together.

Why is this happening? Can someone please help me out!

I had similar issues with mine on League of Legends. I had this problem problem about 2 months ago and contacted tech support. Make sure your firmware is the most recent, it's a new product and every update fixes some bugs with it. When you are done updating reset it. Disable Qos up/down stream and WMM, its under the QoS tab. Under WAN setup make sure Sip ALG is disabled as well. My 2.4g is set to 289mbps and is on auto, 5 is set to 1300mbps and set on channel 153. This is what worked for me. You can also try to forward the ports and set your pc to having the highest priority.

Thanks for the fast reply and the info! my Qos updown stream was already disabled and i did everything else you suggested. But am I supposed to open my NAT with these settings? Or should it just fix my other issue without it. Being as your problem is with league of legends I'm sort of confused on which parts of our problems are similar haha.

My issue was that I would be playing and the ping would randomly go up to 5k+ for a few seconds. Have you tried resetting the router to factory defaults after you updated the firmware?
