So 3 of my buddies and I have come up with this group to make videos. We have everything we need, except for some editing software and the capture device itself and I dont think windows movie make and an iphone will cut it. Were all pitching in. We expected to find it to just be like 30 bucks, but we were wrong. Theres Avermedia, Roxio, Elgato, and the list goes on. And theyre a bit far from the price we originally hoped on finding. So does anyone know a good capture card that can possibly record in hd, and maybe even old systems like the 64 and might even have the software included in it. I'm leaning a bit towards the Roxio HD Pro, but the reviews tend to go against it. Any ideas?

What kind of camera are you using? Most modern cam's record to an SD-card that can popped into a PC and read or the camera can be connected and copy it off and thus, not needing a capture card.

@Dragavor - what you mean as "HD Recording"? You will not find consumer-level box which can capture HDMI, so it all depends what is your source video signal.

@Chicken - this is not going to work for recording, only for playback.
