I bought a 250GB Samsung SSD and also a Seagate 1TB External Hard Drive for my laptop.

How would I be able to move all of my data to my SSD before installation without a USB transfer cable and without a USB enclosure for it.

Would it be possible to clone everything to my External Hard Drive then install the SSD then tranfer everything from the External to the SSD? If so, how would I do that? I couldn't find anywhere online.

Thank you so much!

NOTE* I only have 100GB on my current Hard Drive so I should be okay to tranfer everything.

What I suggest is that you
1) get a bootable copy of good backup software like Easeus ToDo Backup (free) or Acronis True Image (paid).
2) Attach the external drive and make a complete image backup of your disk. Don't clone it; make a backup.
3) Verify the backup.
4) Go into the BIOS and find out if the disk controller is in ATA mode or AHCI mode. We can help if you need it. If it is in ATA mode
4.1) Do the tweak to operating system to set up the change.
4.2) Shutdown and boot to BIOS. Set the controller to AHCI mode.
4.3) Reboot and ensure that Windows still works.
4.3.5) If this broke things, you can restore the previous backup!

6) Boot into the backup software. Restore the image to the SSD, being sure to select the option to Optimize for SSD (Easeus) or the equivalent in whatever software you use. This will fix problems with "4k alignment," which is required for efficient SSD operation. HDDs are aligned differently.
