580 bucks is simply outrageous. There is no reason it should have gone up that much. A lot of the Radeon cards have huge price hikes because suppliers can't keep up with demand. There's a lot of cryptocurrency miners that want Radeon cards because they crunch the numbers necessary to create bitcoins and litecoins far better than Nvidia cards do.
