Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble. I recently reformatted my HD with Windows XP & when I went to install my onboard graphics The ATI program said I needed to install the standard vga graphics adapter. I've formatted this HD before & this has never been an issue. It seems the standard vga adapter isn't being recognized & installed. It's the only thing in the Device Manager that is flagged. I use a large screen t.v as a monitor & I've ran win in 12?x 768. You know what I mean. Anyone ever had this prob? If so, share it with me? Thanx

Do you still have the disk that came with the MB? Or if it is a pre-built PC, the manufacturer's disk? The driver should be on there.

I bought this 2005 machine without any software from a local computer store. I used my moms copy of her restore disks that came with her laptop. It installed once before fine with no prob. That was my first disk re-format. This time, didn't go so well. I've downloaded the driver for my onboard video graphics, ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series {Display Adapter} & tried to install but I get an error saying I should install the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter first. I've searched the net for any advice I can find, still not much help. I'm told to use the disk that came with my machine & there isn't one. If I open my moms disks where do I go to locate this driver? Right now in my display properties it says {Default monitor}. I'm pretty sure I dnlded the right ATI driver. What do you think?

Chances of the gfx driver on another machine's disk matching yours is pretty slim. If you are sure of the "ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series", you can go here:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
...and use the drop down menu to locate the gfx driver. Choose "integrated motherboard graphics", Radeon Express Series", "Radeon Express 200", and your operating system. Download the driver executable and run it.
