Powerline adapter dropping connection

I have my powerline adapter plugged directly into a wall socket. I also have a power strip sharing the same outlet which powers my PC, speakers, monitor, etc.
For some reason the powerline adapter at the other end of the house seems to be dropping connection from time to time (streaming videos suddenly freezes and stops loading) and I am trying to figure out the cause of the problem.

Could sharing the same wall socket with so many devices be affecting the connection? If that is the case I'll probably plug it into a lone socket not used by anything else.

That could cause the problem. Hooking your power strip to another socket may help some, especially if that socket is on a different circuit. The way the powerline adapters work is they send out frequencies on the wire you use for power. The more devices you have plugged in the more the signal is diluted or weakened, I guess is a way to put it (kind of like splitting the signal off the main path). So basically the fewer things you have hooked in between the two powerline adapters the better. This can be tough to determine as many times the two adapters are on different circuits in your house. What powerline adapters do you have? Some of the newer models do a much better job than older models (even models just a couple of years old).

I have not used that model before but it looks good. Using powerline adapters can really be hit or miss unfortunately. It really depends on the house wiring, how many devices are hooked up between the adapters, if they are on the same circuit, and even if they are on the same 110 volt leg in your main breaker box. I use MOCA adapters in my house that run Ethernet over my coaxial cable. This is much more stable than powerline adapters but you have to have cable drops in the locations you need, and there can be some problems if you’re using those same cables for satellite TV.
