More about amd 7870 extremely low frames battlefield
  1. what cpu do you have
  2. We need information to help.

Full system specs? Including PSU, motherboard, RAM, CPU. Everything for that matter.
    Monitor and gaming resolution?
    Battlefield 1, 2, 3 or 4?
How low is "extremely low"? Post numbers.
WHEN is it at these "low" numbers?
  3. My specs are

    AMD FX8350 4.0ghz (no OC)

    AMD radeon 7870

    600W powersupply

    GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard

    and Enermax Ostrog Gt Case
  4. 1980 X 1080 monitor
battlefield 3 and 4 get about same frames in loading ill get like 150 but in actually game it will hit 40's even 20's at times. I mean low setttings in the game
  5. yeah should be way higher uninstall the game and reinstall seems to be helping people with this problem also is this windows 7 or 8
  6. GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard

    That motherboard is a concern.
When playing the game. Run something that monitors CPU speed(CPU-z). I am pretty sure your CPU speed is not running at its rated speed due to VRM throttling.
  7. What should i look for in the CPu-z? this is while playing http://gyazo.com/d3d76f715e12f7030a094aa99b11c421
  8. does it fluctuate from 4000 to like 4199
  9. You need to monitor to see if the CPU does not throttle. For example when your FPS drops, check whether your CPU is still running at 4GHz and not a lower speed.

By the way, you didn't mention monitor resolution? Or what PSU model you have? 600W PSU does not mean anything.
  10. no, it stays exactly as it is, this is the task manager http://gyazo.com/0fd36cce875ccbd5f120a8e4cceb568b

edit: when i play it sounds like a chainsaw for 10 seconds, then eztremly quiet, then a chainsaw 30 seconds later and so on the cycle
  11. go to msi and download the msi afterburner program with it will be a program called kombustor install kombustor run one of the benchmarks what kind of gpu percentage are you getting
    http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm
  12. Is that during the drops in FPS?

Again you are not answering half the questions. I say this again, we need information to help you. The more you provide the easier it gets.

DO NOT suggest Kombuster. Its based on Furmark, which literally killed many graphics cards a few years ago.

Stick to Unique Heaven Bench, 3d Mark or similar.

Wait what? Open your chassis and check where the noise is coming from.
  15. I have used it a lot and have not had any side effects using any of the preset 1080p or 720p benches been using it for years on dozens of systems. But you never know

Im sorry if im being too ignorant, yes this is during when i play any game so yeah the frame drops and it is my cpu

What other info do you need? once again i apologize

These days AMD and Nvidia both have driver built in throttling when Furmark or Kombuster. So it might be safe NOW, but its pointless too. :)

I basically use it on new builds to make sure the cpu is pushing the gpu to 99% use it a lot to check crossfire/sli
  20. or to check that weaker cpus and how hard they can work
  21. Okay so i did some short tests, the gpu load was 90%-95 it kept fluctuating also, my task manager says only 4 GB of my ram is usable, is this normal? http://gyazo.com/e27a2e1735fa6c7369ad80e58b77f651 I have two sticks of 4gb

edit: oh also what more info is needed?
  22. close to a hundred percent is great did you re install the game also try reseating your ram do you have 64 bit windows

yeah i have 64 bit windows and have inserted it back in and out plenty of times could this be affecting my frames?
  24. Yeah lower ram can affect it try going to the search and type msconfig click on it then click on boot then advanced from there see if maximum memory is checked should be top right if it is checked uncheck then reboot.
  25. yeah it wasn't checked, what does that mean?
  26. If its checked then it will limit the amount of useable ram hey move your sticks to different slots and check first use the first one in each slit then the second either you have bad ram or bad slot.
  27. when im moving the ram to different slots i have to have my computer off right?
  28. Yes turn off the computer then flip the switch on the power supply then press the power button you use to turn it on normally the lights might come up for a second then go out. Now you can do whatever you want. Do it each time all your doing is booting up then checking to see how much usable ram you have then repeat till all is tested.
  29. Okay, right now i have 1 ram stick in slot 1 and the maximum memory says its 256
  30. Best answer
Take that stick out and put the other in if it says its normal then that stick is bad if it also says 256 then the slot is bad
  31. okay, i tried each slot with 1 same stick of ram, in slot one, it gave 256 memory, however, in the other 3 slots my monitor didn't even get the signal
  32. di you try the other stick too
  33. coolcole01 said:

Oh god, okay so now i keep gwtting a bad config system info error and its terrifying me
  34. If you are getting problems that stick is faulty
  35. Where do you live bud
  36. Okay, so it finally booted up, luckily however it went so slow like windows 98 even mouse was slow, absolutley must replace this ram correct?
  37. Yes replace the ram
  38. Thank you so much for all your help, if you dont mind can you reccomend 8gb ram under 100$ on amazon? Running on 256mb of ram is difficult :p

    Once again thank you.
