Is the Corsair RM850, 850 Watt good enough for my rig?

Hello, I'm going to upgrade my 630Watt shitty PSU, since it can't handle my GPU/CPU when overclocking the slightest. My PSU even stops working when unparking a few extra cores, which means it can barely handle my rig atm.

My rig:
R9 290 Tri-X 4GB
FX-8350
8GB DDR3 1333MHz

I'm want to upgrade to a Corsair RM850, 850 Watt since it's cheaper atm in my stores, is this PSU gonna be strong enough?

Solution
Keep in mind that issues with overclocking could be motherboard related too. Techincally even with a hefty overclock you will be more than OK with a quality 750W unit like the HX750 or even TX750.

EDIT : Oh and yes, to answer your question, the RM850 will do just fine.

Alright thanks pinkie, and my PC crashed and couldn't go on for another 20 mins, this happened after 3 hours of gaming when I unparked my cores, sounds more like the PSU couldn't handle the extra power when gaming for a long period and needed a small break.

Just out of curiosity, how can I test the stability of my motherboard?

What motherboard do you have?
Its specific to models.

970 Extreme3 R2.0

Has a 4+1 phase power delivery. So keep overclocking to a minimum.

User-experience in general : "Will throttle on overclocked FX 8-core".
This is not confirmed, but there have been a sizeable amount of people reporting throttling, so by unparking your cores, you could pick up issues no matter what PSU you have.

VRM protection is NOT confirmed but is assumed due to motherboard layout. However a lack of VRM protection could cause throttling.

So what does this mean? You have a very low cost board that I normally would not suggest using with FX 8 core CPUs.
DO NOT overclock on this board.

Alright, thanks for the info, I wont overclock (isn't necessary anyways). About my PC crashing after unparking cores and not going on for another 20 minutes, to me it seems like a PSU problem (can't handle the extra power), what does it sound like to you?

My first guess would be power related problem too. But I am just informing you. :)

Alright, I'm glad you took the time to inform me, I wont overclock anymore until I get a new motherboard.

I bought the FX-8350 in a kit which included the motherboard and RAM so I assumed it could handle an overclock, thanks for informing me it can't (wouldn't have known otherwise and might have damaged my motherboard).

I'll buy the PSU no matter what, since my old one is only 630W and 750W is recommended for my videocard, making it a weak component in my rig.

Again, thanks for the help and the time you took to help me!

P.S. The reason I unparked my cores is because it literally increased my fps with ~40 in WoW.
