Hi there!

I've built my first computer now and it's working very good except for my GPU. I first received a XFX Radeon HD 7970, and since it didn't work and my friend's identical setup did - I thought it had to be a faulty GPU. I received a XFX Radeon R9 280x, but I'm getting similar errors here. This is my errors and things like that:

-Installed the GPU into the PCIe slot
-Plugged in to PCIe cables, one 6 p and one 8p.
-Booted the computer
-computer is working fast, no problems
-installing drivers
-install go seamless
-a reboot is necessarily
-rebooting
-boot (no particular order):
-Windows logon get black parts, uneven black thick lines at the bottom, as a shade.
-no signal
-driver crashes and restarts
-Black screen, require reboot
-BSOD: atikmpag.sys is blamed

tried:
-Driver Sweeper (display driver uninstaller)
-uninstall from CD software
-uninstall from device manager
-2 different cards

These are my other parts:
-Intel Core i7-4770k
-Seagate Barracuda 1TB
-Corsair 128GB GS Force Series SSD
-Gigabyte GA-Z87-DS3H UEFI DualBIOS mobo
-Crucial DDR3 Ballistix 16GB Sport kit (8x2) - testet in about 27 hours
-Silver Power 650W

Is there a hotfix? - a known issue? Some kind of patch or tips or tricks? I don't know what to do really. My OS is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Thanks A LOT!
very kind regards,
Erik

Wel, XFX has been unreliable in the past for faulty cards. My 7970 from them had its HDMI port die less than 3 months after I got it. If you're sure your friend has an identical setup, then it sounds like a GPU issue

I just don't see how 2 different GPU's can both fail

Don't know if he's to happy about removing his card again as we just finished building his. What other things can I do?
