I'm looking to upgrade my below average GPU, and i've come across the Sapphire r9 270x on Amazon for £159.99 (I have £70 in vouchers plus Prime, so only really looking on amazon). I have a Zalman Z11 case, and have read some conflicting accounts concercing whether or not the card fits in the case, but I cannot find anybody who has tried to use this card in the Z11. Has anyone here attempted to use this card in this case? If you have used a card of similar dimensions in this case, that could also be helpful

Dimensions: Length: 308mm, Width: 113mm, Height: 41mm

Thanks

That was quick lol, the 270x that they are referring to isn't the toxic one (it has 3 fans rather than two). If it helps i could add the amazon link to the card?

EDIT: Just contacted Amazon, they said that i can buy the card, and return it within 30 days if it doesn't fit. For those wondering I will post my results when i receive the card (Probably some time next week) Link to card: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Toxic-1100MHz-Express-...

I think that the Sapphire Toxic 270x is pretty good. It should also fit; if it doesn't you can do a bit of hardcore modding though.

Thanks sora, kinda conceded that I'll have to remove a bay though, do you know anyone who's done this before and/or know how hard it is? They look bolted together to me :/

Bump, need an answer to this. I'm getting the Gigabyte R9 270X which is 297mm long.

I ended up getting a smaller GPU (Dual-X r9 280x) which fits fine, the website says maximum 290mm GPU length, might be time to get out the tape measure :p

Ah I see, my GPU literally just got dispatched and my case is arriving tomorrow so yeah. This GPU has great cooling and for the price. it was a steal so I just had to get it. I'm hoping it fits otherwise I'm screwed, I can always return it but still, is it possible if you could measure it and see if bays are removable? Thanks :)

I haven't actually got a tape measure but I'll post some pics. Just remember that my Dual-X GPU is 262mm long according to sapphires website, the drive cages (3.5" and 5.25") are held in with rivets so cannot be removed, and with my (Crappy H61) motherboard, the GPU would hit the bottom of the 5.25" cage, but if your PCI-E slots on your motherboard start higher than mine do (Which they probably won't), then your card would sit in the 5.25" cage. All in all though just see if it fits, if it doesn't then it doesn't, if it does then it does.

will post pics when ready

EDIT: Pics

Spoiler

Also, i just found a ruler and the gap is 30mm at a push

Thanks for all of that, I never actually ended up seeing this until now. I had to return that card because it never fit. I now have a Sapphire Vapor-X R9 270X which does the job idling at around 37C :)
