Is the r9 280x a problem Child?

Been doing research and I keep seeing very mixed reviews for the R9 280X's on Newegg but the reviews for the cards do seem positive when people preview them.

Is this GPU good or not?
I am not tech savy so please don't throw numbers at me LOL.

Simple answer? Yes. According to reviews and benchmarks it's a bit worse than the GTX 770, but none the less a GREAT card. Some of the reviews are made on «branded cards», cards from EVGA, Gigabyte and all of that..... I would reccomend the EVGA one if you have the chance and an Asus one if you don't (price differences are...... well quite big). This business is all about luck: you can buy a top high-end card that stops working after a couple of months and a crappy one that lasts till the...
