Our campus has over 15 Apple TVs installed in many of our classrooms. Teachers use the airplay feature for teaching their students. Each Apple TV is connected via Wi-Fi on its own VLAN (VLAN 8). The only other devices that are using VLAN 8 are the iPads that teachers are using. I am seeing a constant log of duplicate IPs from VLAN 8. I have checked each record of a duplicate IP and found that each of them is an Apple TV. Sometimes one MAC address is in conflict with two or three IPs. This is driving me crazy because it is only happening with Apple TVs. Any help will be appreciated.

Kind of makes sense, if the device's (while in sleep mode) DHCP server "forgot" what IP addresses had been assigned, that could create the problem you had. Hope it holds up.

I had the same issue but with only two Apple-TVs, two iPads and a AirPort Express on a small home network. Your solution did the trick. Previously there would be quite a lot of 'Duplicate IP address detected' from either of the two Apple-TVs in the router/dhcpd-unit - approx. with five minute intervals (so much for sleeping anyway, I guess). Since I put them on 'never' in the 'Sleep after'-setting it has stopped. Well found
