Does My PSU Need Replacing?

So I have an ULTRA LSP Series V2 550W PSU, and so many people have told me it just *has* to be replaced that I went ahead and bought a CX430. It's enough voltage for my system, but do I even need it? I can't find a JohnnyGuru on my ULTRA, and I just ran the Batman: Arkham City Benchmark and it never faltered. Am I missing something Should I return the Corsair one when it gets here (still shipping)? I am very confused about the whole thing, and since I don't know how to test my PSU, I can't tell if I've made a mistake. Any help appreciated.

Just because you can use it doesn't mean it won't fail the next day.
Reason to replace The LSP psu:
It not properly 80+ certified which indicates it is not properly tested or doesn't meet the requirements.
It is a generic brand and is more likely to prone to fail.
No reviews means they don't want people to find out or people don't want it
Therefore avoid that brand completely.
However, I advise you to return both psu and buy a XFX TS 550. Your mind would be at peace as it is a good brand and less likely to be a problem in the future. You should never cheap out on psu.

Ok, thanks. Those are some great reasons, but I can't buy the XFX right now. I'll definitely keep it in mind, but I'm under legal employment age, and it took me forever to get to the point I'm at now. I believe the CX430 will be fine for now, considering I only need a 305W (CM's PSU calculator) and it's gotten 2K great reviews. What're your thoughts on it? Thank you for answering, by the way.

Whilst the CX430 is sufficient to power your build, the quality of the psu isn't that great. A XFX TS 550 would suffice any future single gpu upgrades or cpu upgrades. Of course, i would still replace a 5 year old psu but i don't trust a CX430 to run 5 years since it is given as a three year warranty. If money is tight, then i guess the CX 430 is your best choice for now.
Also i suggest you don't overclock anything.

In regards to Suztera: In 3 years, I'll have enough for a 750 watt, easily, so I'll be fine for that, lol.
In regards to SR-71 Blackbird: Great info, thanks. By the way, mind posting a link or something as to where you find this stuff? I can't locate any information on it online, and the box is vague at best.
Thanks, everyone.

Doesn't the PSU have a sticker at least saying the amps on the rails?
Also you can google it and find it on TigerDirect. It even in a table.

Once again, a dual response.
Suztera: Huh, guess I overlooked the obvious.
SR-71 Blackbird: Are you the Batman of power supplies? Also, thanks for the help on this. I'm glad I've got solid facts now.
