This will be be my first build, so I'd appreciate to hear your opinion:

Core i3-4130
Noctua NH-L9i
ASRock Z87M Pro4
Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
WD Black 2TB
Sapphire Radeon R7 260X OC 2GB
Corsair CX430

1. Is the CX430 sufficient, or do I need a better power supply?
2. Are these components balanced?
3. Can I play modern games on 1080p and high settings?
4. My productivity tasks consist of office applications and some photo editing. I assume this build will be more than capable to handle that.
5. Please suggest a good and affordable micro ATX case.

For now, it is sufficient. If you were to plan on upgrading to higher end components and overclocking, I wouldn't choose the CX series.

2. Are these components balanced?
Everything is balanced pretty well except the motherboard. Are you planning on later getting an unlocked CPU you can overclock? If not, you can save a good bit of money and get the H87M version.

3. Can I play modern games on 1080p and high settings?
You can play modern games at Medium/High. Games that punish (like Crysis 3, ARMA III, BF4, etc) will be more on the medium with some high end, though.

The i3 has hyperthreading, so you'll get decent performance for photo-editing, but for normal office applications, it is more than powerful enough.

Affordable means something different to a lot of people lol A decent, cheaper case would be the Rosewill Line-M case.

Thank you very much for your assessment! So the H87 chipset provides most of the same features as Z87 but lacks CPU overclocking. Correct?
