Should I add thermal paste if I use a stock cooler?

I have recently installed a Pentium G3220 and the stock CPU cooler that came with it. I noticed that the cooler already had some thermal paste applied onto it, so for now I haven't added some extra thermal paste on the CPU itself.

As a rule of thumb, should you always add thermal paste to the CPU too even if there is already some on the cooler?

Nope, the pre-applied paste should be sufficient. :)

Less is more in the world of thermal paste.

Nope, it doesn't really matter what paste you use, only that you use it.

If you take you heat synch off for any reason, clean off the existing thermal paste, and apply new thermal paste - to avoid bubbles which can cause heat issues.

Stock coolers come with pre-applied thermal paste. But, if you would like to replace it, for example to Arctic Silver's paste, then look at this YouTube video. Most people say this is the best thermal paste available.
