RAID 0 with old same drive?

Hey everyone,

Recently I've been making some YouTube videos and they're taking up a lot of space. In order to still be able to record more before I edit / render previous videos I was set on buying another 1TB WD Blue to match my current one in RAID 0 for 2TB of storage total. The only thing I was concerned about was the possibility of my older drive failing. I've had it since May 2013, and since it's getting older I'm scared about it failing, leaving me with an unreadable 1TB drive.

What I'm wanting to know is would it be smart / safe to buy another 1TB drive and put the two of them in RAID 0? If it helps here's my system's specs:

FX 8350 @ 4 GHz
ASUS M5A97 R2.0
XFX HD 7850 1GB
Mushkin Chronos 240GB SSD
WD Blue 1TB (7200 RPM, 64MB cache)
Kingston HyperX 8GB 1600 MHz (2x4GB)
Corsair GS600

Any input on this is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael

Solution
Why RAID? Just aim the target for the video recording at the D drive (the new HDD).

Yes, some applications do not allow that, but I would only RAID if there were no other choice. Another WD Blue would work.

I could do that, yes, but currently I can only record for about an hour and a half total, as I use some of the space on another partition for my Steam games, which takes 150GB of space. If I were to put it in RAID, I could get over 3 hours in one session which would make it easier than recording for a small amount of time, switch the drives, and keep recording. What I could do is just buy a 2TB WD Black and be done with it, but that would cost a lot more, which I can't quite afford. Unless you know a good 2TB drive in Canada, then I think I'm just gonna go with a RAID 0.

*EDIT* I just looked, and managed to find a Seagate Barracude 2TB for $100. May go with this instead, or 3TB version. Thanks for the input anyway, much appreciated.
