I have an MSI P67A-GD65-B3 mobo. I need to update the bios. I have an OCZ Vertex as the boot drive and a WD 1 TB as a storage drive. If I update the Bios, will any of the SATA mode settings change from AHCI and cause me grief? Are there any steps I should take in order to prevent my mobo from becoming a brick? The MSI instructions are a little vague.

Basically, the only thing you have to worry about is preventing an interruption of the process. For example, don't do this during a lightning storm or ice storm when there is a higher chance of a power outage.

To answer your question, even if the SATA mode was changed (which I can almost guarantee it won't), you can simply boot into BIOS and change it back. :)
