Hello, I will try to be brief.

While playing some games, my display shuts off. Especially games that require a good amount of GPU processing. Additionally, I lose the sound that is coming from my optical port (ASTRO A40), but not the sound from the USB port.
When this happens, there is nothing I can really do except shutting my PC using the power button.
It is not a overheat problem, as I gradually check the temperature using SpeedFan, and it goes no more than 60-62C.

My PC specifications:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional
GPU: SAPPHIRE HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB GDDR5 VAPOR-X
PSU: CORSAIR HX Series HX850 850W
RAM: G.SKILL Trident X 8GB (2 x 4GB) 2400MHz

What do you think is wrong ?
And what would cause such thing ?

I really appreciate your help.
Thank you for stopping by.

As I figured this same question a week ago.

When you alt tab to check those temperatures the temperature lowers a bit since the game graphics is minimized but when you are "ingame" the temperature becomes high again not like when you check those temps.
