I just installed a brand new GTX TITAN BLACK edition and mid game my monitor goes black but the computer is still running

The gpu said it required a 600w power supply and i checked and mine is 800w. I have updated the driver for my grphics card but its still being an issue.

  1. Whats the make and model of the PSU? Just because its says 800w doesn't mean it can deliver that power where it counts(12v rail) or deliver stable power. Have you checked temps to make sure its not overheating?

Can you instruct me on how to check the temps?

That PSU is not a good unit at all. You are trying to power a $1000 video card with a PSU most would only use as a doorstop.
  5. I was afraid that was the problem its the oldest part in my computer... :/
  6. That could run 3 titans. A good quality 600w is usually sufficient for a single card(depending on other system specs).

  7. The rest of my system isn't very power intense so i think i'll go with the one i listed just be somewhat future proof.
